Royal Cabbala in Fontainebleau
" The origins of the French royal sacrament must be looked for in the Old Testament. The King receives the same ointment as the Messiah, according to the same ritual as in Israel, where the kings of David's house are also priests… It is striking that the Sacramental ritual of the kings of France has many similarities with the sacramental ritual of the kings of Israel. " The holy scriptures, which are now included in the Bible, defined the Hebraic culture. It is well known that the Cabala is the esoteric of the Jewish tradition; it used the letters to approach the secrets of the Scriptures. Now, let's look for a potential French cabala, since our King presents himself as an heir of David and Solomon. The castle of Fontainebleau is one of the great French palaces, and it was the main residence of several monarchs. Francis 1st did make the mansion bigger and left the future generations with this enigmatic "Grande Galerie", which is also referred to as the "Francis 1st Gallery". The room is about 60 meters long (it is some sort of precursor of the Galerie des Glaces in Versailles), and its decorations is luxurious, yet misunderstood. I suggest we try to present an interpretation of it starting with Scibec de Carpi's panels.
Picture 1. There are several panels presenting a theme that appears quite surrealist. The official explanation is to say it presents us with the "salamander", which was the King's emblem. Well, the shape has not very much to do with a natural salamander, since it rather resembles a racoon or a chimera. The whole ornamental surface is very surprising, and nobody has ever suggested any interpretation for it. I suppose an historian would say it is "grotesque".

Picture 3. Above the Salamander, there are two engraved cats. They do not seem very happy, their mouth is open, and they are probably meowing (that is "miauler in French. MIAULER, pronounced the other way around in French makes ELOHIM. Is that pure chance?

The word "cat" was part of some interesting expressions: " chat veut dire mi-non " (cat means half a no) was said of a wise man who would understand quickly. " Un tour de chatterie " was a malicious trick; " faire la chatte mouillée " meant playing the innocent in order to cheat. The cat symbolised secrets and dissimulation.
Pictures 4. What then is the cat of the panel trying to conceal? Let's trace an oblique line just in front of its nose.

A mirror placed on this line shows a face! What kind of " tour de chatterie " is that? What we see is a kind of cat man, an HOMME-CHAT, and that would be pronounced SHALOM in reversed, which means "peace" in Hebrew. Would that be the representation of explain the bird sitting on its head, symbolising flight. Constructively, we thus notice a logical progression: the concept of the half is the leading thread. First there is the theme which is half pot, half face, and then there is one half of a face, of a being that is half man, half cat. This seems to be coherent.
Picture 5. Anyway, the cat seems to be suffering, he appears to be hurt. In French, we would say he suffers from the MAUX (the worries) of life, which leads us towards words (les MOTS).

Pictures 6. Is he the cat who is hurt = QUI A MAL, " QU'A MAL " reminding us the Hebrew word MALAK, the" angel "? Then the three syllables - QU-A-MAL - are pronounced the other way around QU-A-MAL.
Picture 2. On the lower part of the panel, we can see a face, with branches coming out of its mouth. The face is thus a vase. There is a word in ancient French that suits it perfectly: OLE, which means "big pot" and "skull". The head is half a pot, half a skull that is MI-OLE. If we write it the other way around, we get ELO-IM, which is a key word of the Old Testament! In the French versions of the Bible, Elohim means God! (However, Elohim is a plural noun that could be translated by "the powers or the gods").

Picture 7. The CHAT (cat) is orally duplicated in reverse; thus pronounced: ACH. He is hurt = Il a MAL: then we get ACHMAL, which is the name of a type of angel also called "the speaking silence" in Talmud. That is a beautiful definition of a message that is not spoken. The angel ACHMAL only appears twice in the Bible, in the book of Ezekiel, where he is " like fire ".
2- Thanks to Michel Barbot for his book on the Cabalist named Virya, " Vie Mystique et Kabbale ". ACHMAL then gave the word for electricity in Modern Hebrew.

Even though the reader might remain sceptic, he will still have to acknowledge the strangeness of the themes. What does a suffering cat do in a royal castle? Difficult to answer that question… But what if it were all about the CHAS (the needle eye)? What's interesting, the animal wears a collar that makes us think of the needle eye, the passage. The Christ says (in Matthew 19:24): "Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God". How curious that the French word for camel, CHAMEAU, reversed, makes the word cat, le MOT CHAT! That would nearly have us wondering if the cat on the panel is suffering because he is not able to go through the eye of a needle. The kingdom of God, so difficult to enter, is also the kingdom of Elohim, since the two words are synonyms. Why then is the king of France leading us so secretly towards a religious message? If it simply were that he wanted to recall the importance of being virtuous, then he would not need to cipher his message. It is more likely that all is about some kind of cabbalistic science that the Royalty would have inherited. The Bible can be read in its literal meaning, but it certainly has some hidden messages. In this way, we have discovered one detail of something bigger that we still haven't grasped. The initiates subtly lead us toward the word Elohim by tracing several converging paths. When one is visiting Francis 1st Gallery, one can not avoid the bad taste, the weird characters or the implicitly sexual details. Some tourists go through the room in a state of awe and stupefaction, sensing that something is eluding them. Is it possible to declare that the engraved panels are beautiful? They have been made with finesse, very professionally, but they aren't beautiful. The skull/pot has nothing to do with beauty, and the cat is scary! It may be that they were done in this manner in order to suggest words: HIDEUX, hideous, is one of the words that spring to mind. And one way to lead us back to Elohim, the gods, DIEUX. Should we rather see in the theme a man-lion (" léon " in ancient French), then why not? The derived adjective, léonin, does not take us away from the words, since it used to describe the structure of rimes. Using MI-LEON, MI-HOMME (half lion, half man), we have all the letters of the word ELOHIM, (leaving one N)... Did the King's initiates refer to the Egyptian sphinx, the creature that had a lion's body and a man's head? In Guizèh, next to the 3 great pyramids, a big sphinx seems to be guarding them. There are many books about a great secret related to the Pyramid of Kheops . It is quite possible that the wooden face found in Fontainebleau is related to that.
3- The only letter that isn't part of the anagram is the H, not pronounced. 4- More specifically, " Le Grand Secret des Pyramides de Guiseh " and " ...Sphinx de Guiseh " by Guy Gruais and Guy Mouny suggest a geometrical approach :www.chez.com/egypte/aventure.html.
Pictures 8. Even though it seems difficult to elaborate more precise hypothesis linked to Egypt, the whole concept of the man-lion face is well-known during the Renaissance. Here come some specific examples taken from Fontainebleau.

We have only just begun to understand how the royal cabbalists use the French language in order to guide us through the Biblical secrets. He mere shapes of the themes have no meaning whatsoever, appearance is a lie. My theory is quite simple: I have found the beginning of a puzzle; I hold some of its bits. There are probably hundreds of other bits out there that would make things clearer. There must be some secret science of the Torah, some teaching that cannot be revealed, or that isn't accessible to anyone. In another article, I wrote about the Knights of Templar that did some investigations in the ruins of the Temple of Solomon in Jerusalem. They probably found, and brought it back to France, the mythical Arch of Alliance, God-Yahweh's coffin. They also probably got to know the esoteric branch of Judaism, and acquired some knowledge about encoding and ciphering. That knowledge must have remained until the 16th century, when Francis 1st Gallery was created. We mustn't forget Nostradamus, who came from a Jewish family: he might have given some important information to the royalty. Either he or other persons. One thing is certain, at the time, the Catholic institutions prohibited any change in its dogma or definitions. If new data was revealed during the 16th century, the Pope would have prohibited that such seismic information be made known. The King or some members of his court could have been accused of heretic behaviour. Maybe that is how some people got the idea of leaving a message in the castles….

Picture 9. Let's get back to the oblique line that gives us the middle of the man-cat, the axis on which we placed the mirror. Upside down, it goes through the beak of a bird, under the cat's nose, under the "salamander's" nose and under the nose of a hidden being (we'll get back to this being later on). This line of ours is thus determined by the alignment of 5 noses (NEZ). Am I crazy? Not so sure about that, but why these noses = CES NEZ? The answer is found in the Bible: everybody has heard of the part where an angel appears to Moses in a burning bush . In Hebrew the burning "bush" is called SENE (pronounced the same way as CES NEZ). Yannick Auffret writes that SENE also is "a big shield". In the same part, the apparition is also qualified as a "mirror". A possibility arises, namely that Moses would have seen some big enlightened disk... maybe a Ufo, a flying saucepan. Auffret tells us that in Deuteronomy 33:16, God Yahweh is described as "he who lives in the SENE". In Fontainebleau, the " salamanders " on the panels are represented inside an oval flaming shield, like the SENE that Moses saw. The intrepid thesis involving some flying object reminds us of a certain type of sailing ship from the North, that were also called CHAT in French…! There is one type of angels to which the salamander is directly related: the SERAPHIM, called SERAFE in French during the Renaissance, whereas SARAF in Hebrew means "burning". The seraph is a parent of the dragon, who is the brother of the salamander.

Pictures 11. one salamander, whose head is completely reversed seems to invite us to go out of the conventional paths. What is it she is spitting out? A colleague of hers (third picture) shows a more precise shape: small batrachians, called "tetrads", derived from the word "tête" (head) in French. Let's take a closer look at the head. What a surprising discovery! The lower part of the skull is a dog's head (CHIEN)! We now have to introduce the archangel Saint Michel (or Michael), the first of the angels and seraphim, the protector of France. The Order of Saint Michel is named after him, and the main personalities of the Kingdom were part of it. The King himself used to chair the meetings of this Order of Chivalry. Here is one incredible word: " CHEEL " or " CHAEL " meaning " small dog ". The salamander that hides a dog's head is thus MI-CHEEL (or MI-CHAEL), " half dog " (and half salamander) or " mon chien " (my dog)! The Archangel's name is ciphered. The same salamander (pictures 12) clearly has the body of a cat. This animal could thus be defined as LE-MI-CHA, i.e. " the half-cat ", and here we have all the letters of MICHAEL. This play on words can also be applied to the first wooden panel presenting us with a cat and with a hidden face of half a cat. Quite strange to think of the minimum words that a cat would say if it could talk: MI-LE-CHA, i.e.: " me the cat ". ". They are also the letters of MICHAEL. Then we see it is very likely that the hidden face of the cat man is the face of Michael…. One last detail: we notice that the two skulls that are one lead us back to the MI-OLE we had in the beginning. The initiates ciphered as much information they could in each one of the drawings. The preliminary work must have been very thorough. Nothing is just spontaneously artistic, everything has been calculated and reflected over.
7- Lors de la création de la galerie François 1er., le mot " têtard " n'était pas encore entériné pour nommer les larves de batraciens. Cela ne devait se faire que quelques décennies plus tard. On peut pourtant supposer que l'usage verbal existait déjà puisque l'adjectif " testard " s'appliquait à ce " qui a une grosse tête ".

Picture 12. Francis 1st made the castle of Blois a great deal bigger, and there are a lot of gargoyles that have a dog's body. In some cases, the dog has wings, like an angel. That confirms out theory about Saint Michael.
Pictures 13. The Hebrew word for " seraph ", SARAF, is used in the Bible, in Numbers 21:6, to name " burning snakes " sent by God. Let's take a close look at the " salamander " of the cat panel, but upside down this time: the back leg and the tail depict some kind of a dog's head, in the process of biting a snake! That is but another hint to Michael, the seraph.

8- Or one could consider it to be a reference to ACHMAL, the angel of fire. The intensity of the ciphering is stunning.
Picture 14. Here is a detail of another wooden panel. It represents two snakes that must be "burning" (like the seraphim), considering the fact that they are very close to the burning shield. They are coming out of a chest (the tits are obvious). That is a fine example of a hideous (HIDEUX) spectacle meant to show holy beings, the gods = DIEUX. But why a chest and not some other part? At that time, the chest was called the PIS, and another meaning of this word is "the worst". It could be a reference to the Jews' rebellion against Elohim. "God sent burning snakes against the people, whose bite killed many people in Israel". This type of SARAF is thus linked to death, the worst, le PIS. One of the snakes has a dog's head, so the two animals are once again united, as previously. This kind of details is not understandable except in our approach. The wooden panels of the gallery have drawn my attention as a researcher on the angels or on God himself. Not everything is clearly told in the Bible, we all need some kind of deciphering device: in the present case, it would be the cabbalistic plays on letters. The Old Testament presents us with tales involving supernatural beings or normal beings, the history of a people. It is well known that the Bible should not be taken too literally; one has to be able to read through the lines. Still, it appears to be dangerous to get too far away from the Christian moral and educational values that proceed from the supposed existence of a creating spirit. In any case, the persons who edited the Book seem to have adapted its content to what could be taken in by the men of their time. The intellectuals who surrounded Francis 1st seem to have studied the text on a deeper level, either by themselves or with the help of some Hebraic knowledge. It is likely that the Royalty had access to some secret information regarding angels or gods that surely are something more than just symbolic beings. A very bold theory identifies the Elohim with our modern extraterrestrial beings, the UFOs being their flying ships. The magic makes use of the power of names in order to call upon higher powers. If God's name was ciphered inside a royal castle, it means that there was a will to draw the Holy favours upon France. For now, I wish a new world will emerge that will bring a spiritual revolution upon us. Thus a more precise vision of our past will be possible.
